The Governing Board of the Institut Ramon Llull, held today, Friday , November 5, 2021, has appointed Pere Almeda as the new director of the Institut Ramon Llull. Almeda will replace Francesc Serés, who has resigned voluntarily and for personal reasons.

This November sees the return of the Cambridge Film Festival, which showcases international independent cinema and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. This edition will have the Camera Catalonia section, which has been part of the festival since 2012 and is organised in cooperation with Institut Ramon Llull to support the international spread of contemporary Catalan cinema. It will take place between 18 and 25 November, in face-to-face format, and between 21 November and 5 December, online.

Following the international call for applications that closed last September, 12 experienced translators from Catalan into English were selected to take part in this advanced translation course. The online course will be directed by translator Peter Bush in collaboration with editor Sophie Lewis, and will run for three days, from Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 November 2021.

Faberllull Palma is a residency program managed by the Institut Ramon with supported by the Governement of Balearic Islands and in collaboration with Palma's town council. It is part of the Faberllull Network of Arts, Sciences and Humanities Residencies, launched by Institut Ramon Llull. Faberllull Palma will start its activities on 15 November 2021.
