Festival of Hope is an international online festival that aims to give value to poetry in the uncertain times that culture and cultural events are facing. The event is part of Versopolis, a platform that gathers 30 European poetry festivals, and its main goal is to create a “unique transnational opportunity, where hope can be reflected about, steered, demonstrated, poeticised, questioned and addressed.”
The event takes place from January 21st to February 28th in its second edition, with the motto “Speaking up!”. Following last year’s successful participation with a video that presented Catalan poetry through Sebastià Portell, Odile Arqué, Maria Antònia Massanet and Pol Guasch, Institut Ramon Llull is participating again in this year’s edition.
David Caño and Núria Marínez Vernis are the selected poets for the 2021 edition. Both artists are perfect fits for the festival theme due to the committed, critical and transformative character of their poetry. The video will include a brief introduction of each poet and a seven minutes reading.
