The main core of Espe Pons's work is memory and landscape. The construction of her projects is often based on a certain visual poetics full of silences. In other cases, it places photography right at the limit of the medium itself, revealing its conventions. While in the early period of Pons's career her work was based on inner landscape and personal memory, over time her work has become more complex, incorporating key elements of historical and social reflection.

In 2019, Espe Pons was selected, along with Jordi Jové, for an artist-in-residence programme at Three Shadows Photography Art Center in Beijing, China.
She has published three photobooks, Sota la llum del mar (Under the light of the sea) in 2021,Tierra (Land) in 2023, and Flucht in 2023.
